PBS NewsHour Weekend - Stranded In Mexico
Thousands of migrants from around the world, many seeking asylum, have been trying to reach the U.S. by flying to South America before beginning the long journey north. But after President Trump issued an ultimatum to Mexico last summer to stem the tide of migrants crossing into their country to reach the U.S. border, Mexican authorities have been clamping down with an increase in troops and checkpoints. The crackdown has created a bottleneck in the southern Mexico city of Tapachula, where many migrants find themselves stranded. NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent Nadja Drost reports.
