Sunflower Journeys - It Grows In Kansas

We start with an introduction to the Kansas Black Farmer's Association, an organization founded in 1999 by farmers of Nicodemus, KS who utilize their combined support to help other Kansas farmers in both rural and urban situations; we visit the Red Tractor Farm, just south of Lawrence, KS, and meet Jessica Pierson and Jen Humphrey who share their passion for organic agriculture; and in our studio segment, we introduce you to Dr. John Richard Schrock, a retired biology professor from Emporia State University who talks about the "Kansas School Naturalist," a publication that's been produced since the mid-1950s and is devoted to natural history and nature education.
