Patricia Routledge as Hyacinth goes to incredible lengths in her quest for perfection. She's so obsessed with etiquette and breeding that she makes her husband Richard's life a perfect misery. Hyacinth's endless campaign to improve the world by being the standard-bearer of good manners and fine behavior invariably leads to her utter humiliation at the failings of her social inferiors.
